"As above, so below" is a popular modern paraphrase of the second verse of the Emerald Tablet, a short Hermetic text which first appeared in an Arabic source from the late eighth or early ninth century. Used in occult, pagan, and other modern practices as a reminder that the world is a reflection, and the physics law that nothing can happen without an opposite and equal reaction. I drew this design thinking about these concepts in nature, the tree above ground mirrored by the roots below. To strengthen this idea, I chose a black and white inverted color theme.
