This painting I created in multiple steps. First I painted the landscape of Looking Glass Rock on a canvas paper. The scene depicts this iconic rock view from the Blue Ridge Parkway with Rhododendron Blooms. Then I painted this custom folk border on stretched canvas to match it. I cut out the landscape painting and glued it in place. This give a very interesting frame and colorful landscape juxtaposition that I believe is sublime.
